Original 1921 Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) studio portrait of an African American infant, identified on the front margin in period ink: "Walter Jr Age 5 mo 6/16/21." Captured seated in a white christening gown and buttoned soft shoes. Produced by Sissman Studio, with their studio imprint printed vertically along the left reverse: "SISSMAN STUDIO, 1828 CENTER AVE., PITTSBURGH, PA." Reverse also features period ink holiday correspondence to "Mrs. Randolph From Mrs. Coleman" alongside an authentic ARTURA stamp box. Very good antique condition with rich, clear sepia photographic tones, a subtle vertical surface bend/crease visible under raking light, and light corner wear. An exceptional, fully identified piece of early 1920s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Black Americana and vernacular child portraiture.
