Product Overview
Original circa 1922 Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) studio portrait of an African American toddler, identified along the lower margin in period ink: "Walter Lee Hamilton Jr. Age 1 yr." The young boy poses seated in a dark wooden armchair, dressed in a light-colored tunic and white socks with dark shoes. The reverse features an unmailed divided back with an authentic AZO stamp box (two triangles pointing up, two pointing down, dating 1918-1930). Unsigned, maker unknown. Very good antique condition with sharp focus, warm sepia tones, clean edges, and light age toning/soiling to the unwritten reverse. A wonderful, fully identified early 1920s portrait and companion piece to the earlier infant photograph of Walter Lee Hamilton Jr.
