Original circa 1910s Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) studio portrait featuring an exceptionally clear image of a young African American scholar or student, identified on reverse through handwritten correspondence: "From, Alfonso Montes, M.B.C., Atlanta, Ga." and addressed "To, Miss Meriwether, Morris Brown College, Atlanta, Ga." The subject is sharply dressed in a high rounded collar, necktie, and tailored three-piece suit, seated on a studio table. Unmailed with an authentic ARTURA stamp box (dating circa 1908-1924). Unsigned, photographer unknown. Condition shows authentic age wear including album corner mounting remnants on reverse, minor silvering/toning along the margins, tiny surface pinholes, and small edge nicks, while the subject's face, hair, and attire retain remarkable sharpness. An outstanding, historically significant piece of HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) history and early 20th-century African American portrait photography.
