Original 1941 vintage linen comic postcard produced by Curt Teich & Co. (Chicago) as part of their "C.T. Shadow Comics" series (Card No. C-148). The colorful Art-Colortone lithograph depicts a suitor holding flowers and a gift observing silhouetted figures in the doorway, captioned: "While waiting on her lawn / There came the dawn!" with dialogue: "Bet he's th' dark man I've been hearing about-". Postally used with a crisp January 27, 1941 postmark from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, addressed to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, franked with a green 1-cent US Defense "Industry-Agriculture" postage stamp. Features nice linen texture, vivid inks, sharp corners, and handwritten period correspondence on reverse. A scarce crossover piece of WWII homefront era humor, postal history, and pop culture ephemera.
