Nice looking vintage postcard with Black Americana theme. Pictured and shipped in stiff top loader. Condition is as pictured.
This is an authentic vintage linen-era postcard, postmarked 1938, featuring a comic vacation theme with Black Americana caricature elements. Signed in the print by artist A. Taylor, the illustration depicts a stylized figure in a grass skirt holding a red parasol on a beach, accompanied by the text: "NO, THIS ISN'T ME! BUT I'M SO TANNED THERE ISN'T MUCH DIFFERENCE! (HOPE YOU'LL KNOW ME WHEN I GET HOME)".
The reverse side is postmarked Hampton Beach, N.H., JUN 28, 1938, with a green 1-Cent George Washington postage stamp (Scott #552/704 era). Marked "VACATION COMIC No. 50" along the left margin and "Printed in U.S.A." The card bears handwritten correspondence in Armenian script addressed to Lowell, Massachusetts.
